'Feud': Chloë Sevigny Joins Naomi Watts In Season 2 Of FX's Anthology Series Directed By Gus Van Sant

It’s been more than five years since the debut of Ryan Murphy’s other, other FX anthology project, “Feud.” After the success of “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story,” FX was hoping to get Murphy to continue his anthology hot streak with a new series that aimed its spotlight on famous Hollywood spats. The first season went on to earn a number of awards including multiple Emmys. Alas, it’s taken until this year for a second season to get off the ground. But here we are, with a new filmmaker behind the camera and two new leading ladies to carry to the “Feud” torch.

According to Deadline, Chloë Sevigny has been cast to star opposite Naomi Watts in the upcoming season of “Feud,” which is set to be directed by Gus Van Sant. The new story is being adapted from Laurence Leamer’s bestselling book “Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era” and will tell the story of Capote as he betrayed the women around him. Watts is set to play Babe Paley, the wife of a CBS executive, while Sevigny will portray C.Z. Guest. The series will be written by Jon Robin Baitz, who will also serve as showrunner.

Sevigny is an award-winning actress who is no stranger to prestige TV. Most recently, she had a role in the Hulu series, “The Girl from Plainville.” Previously, she also starred in Luca Guadagnino’s HBO series, “We Are Who We Are,” as well as another Hulu series, “The Act.” “Feud” Season 2 also marks the return of Van Sant to TV after several years when he directed one episode of the series, “When We Rise.”

It’s unclear when production on the second season of “Feud” will begin, but if the series replicates the success of the first batch of episodes, it’ll definitely be well worth the wait.
