SXSW finalized its 2026 Film & TV Festival lineup with 13 last-minute additions ahead of the March 12–18 run in Austin, pushing the program to 120 features (including 90 world premieres) alongside 52 short films and 20 music videos. The TV program totals 13 projects, while the XR slate lands at 31.
“With these final selections, the 2026 Film & TV lineup is one of our most exciting yet,” said Claudette Godfrey, SXSW’s VP of Film & TV. “These projects capture the creative fearlessness and storytelling ambition that filmmakers bring to SXSW year after year. Each film stands on its own, but together they create a program that’s bold, surprising, and built for discovery. We’re proud to showcase this work and to share it with audiences who show up curious, engaged, and ready to champion new voices.”
The final wave is concentrated in a few lanes. Narrative Spotlight adds four titles, including the world-premiere slam-poetry drama “Dead Deer High” and the world-premiere rom-com complication “Love Language.” The section also includes the international premiere of the Australian dark-comedy folktale “The Fox” and the world premiere thriller setup “A Safe Distance.”
Documentary Spotlight adds the world premiere of “Baby/Girls,” set in post-Dobbs Arkansas and focused on teens navigating pregnancy and early motherhood in a Christian maternity home.
Festival Favorite expands with four Texas premieres: “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Chasing Summer,” “Cookie Queens,” and “Joybubbles.” Visions brings the world premiere of “Sinner Supper Club,” described as an improvised, iPhone-shot “gay mumblecore ghost story.” Music section 24 Beats Per Second adds two world premieres, “Stages” and “The Man with the Big Hat.” And TV Spotlight rounds out the batch with world-premiere series “Woodstockers.”
