Tales of forbidden love usually follow a young couple kept apart by external circumstances. But the “Two of Us” trailer introduces a pair of older women in love with one another, kept from publicly declaring their love for one another because of fear.

Nina and Madeleine are next-door neighbors who have been in love for decades. Their families don’t know they’re together, so they can easily move between each others’ apartments if the time calls for it. Nina is ready to tell the world they’re together, but Madeleine is still wary. However, when Madeleine suffers a stroke that renders her unable to talk, the pair’s love is put to the ultimate test. Madeleine’s daughter comes by to help her mother out and Nina has to navigate what her place is in the situation.
“Two of Us” stars Barbara Sukowa (“Lola“), Martine Chevallier (“Tell No One“), Léa Drucker (“The Man of My Life“), and Jérôme Varanfrain (“The Brand New Testament“). The movie was directed and co-written by Filippo Meneghetti (“Maistrac: lavorare in Cantiere“). Malysone Bovorasmy (“Nina“) also acted as a co-writer on the movie.
