House Of Dynamite
Filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow delivers a tense, political thriller with the nightmarish “House of Dynamite.” Based on the screenplay from Noah Oppenheim, the film follows the response of the U.S. government following their learning that a single nuclear missile has been launched at them. The ensemble cast includes Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee, and Jason Clarke
Release Date: In theaters October 10, before streaming October 24 on Netflix. 

Ballad Of A Small Player
Collin Farrell stars in the latest film from recently Oscar-nominated Edward Berger(“Conclave”) with “Ballad of a Small Player.” Based on the 2014 novel and adapted by Rowan Joffé, the film follows Farrell as a high-stakes gambler whose past and debts begin to catch up to him. Fala Chen, Deanie Ip, Alex Jennings, and Tilda Swinton round out the cast. 
Release Date: In theaters October 17, before streaming October 29 via Netflix

It Was Just an Accident
The prolific filmmaker Jafar Panahi returns with the already critically acclaimed “It Was Just An Accident,” following its premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The thriller follows a series of events after a minor mishap, which escalates into increasingly complex problems, all informed by the filmmaker’s explicit examination of Iran and its politics. Vahid Mobasseri, Mariam Afshari, Ebrahim Azizi, Hadis Pakbaten, and more stars.
Release Date: In theaters October 15 via NEON.

Good Fortune
Aziz Ansari returns behind and in front of the camera with the afterlife comedy “Good Fortune.” Keanu Reeves stars as a good-natured but inept angel who tries to help a man who is down on his luck by showing him that wealth isn’t the answer. Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh also star. 
Release Date: In theaters October 17 via Lionsgate. 

If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” 
Rose Byrne continues to demonstrate her versatile talents in the singular “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.” Written and directed by Mary Bronstein, the film follows a woman as she navigates life while her world seems to be literally and figuratively crashing down around her. The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance and stars Conan O’Brien, Danielle Macdonald, Christian Slater, and ASAP Rocky
