Got a Tip?

Tom Hardy Is Going Into The Cold Again For Ernest Shackleton Epic

The story about the production of “The Revenant” was told over and over again last year, but here’s the distilled version: it was hell. The production went over schedule by months, weather didn’t cooperate, and the wintry conditions were made even more arduous by director Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s insistence regarding being on location and shooting in natural light. But it seems Tom Hardy is suited to the cold, as he’s gearing up a project that will definitely require packing a few extra pairs of thick socks.

Deadline reports that the actor is signing up to star in a movie about explorer Ernest Shackleton. Peter Straughan (“Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy,” “Frank,” “Wolf Hall“) will pen the script about the man behind three expeditions to the Antarctic, and survived (among other things) the destruction of his ship The Endurance by ice floes.

But the project still seems to be in early stages over at StudioCanal (who will finance the movie), with no director yet named.
