Disney Announces A Whole Lot Of New Release Dates, Including New Marvel And Star Wars Movies Through 2023

Did you think Disney’s dominance of the box office and our collective consciousness ended with the launch of Disney+? You were wrong, fool. The Walt Disney Company is just getting started getting a piece of everything you hold dear, and will do so for the conceivable future, as the studio just announced an updated release schedule containing all the movies you won’t shut up about until 2023.

Deadline reports that the company has announced a bunch of release dates for untitled movies, just in time for the holidays! These include two of the “Avatar” movies for December 2021 and 2023, an “Untitled Indiana Jones” project for July 9, 2021 and more, but before we get to the good stuff, Deadline points out that Matthew Vaughn’s “The King’s Man” has been bumped from Valentine’s Day 2020 to September 18, 2020, so this probably means there won’t be a fingering scene in the new film. Meanwhile, we got not one but two new Ben Affleck movies set for release next year, with “Deep Water” set for release next November, and the infamous “The Last Duel” which reunites Affleck with Matt Damon as both stars and writers, and will be directed by Ridley Scott, for December 25, 2020. There were some questions as to whether Disney, the studio that was reportedly concerned over Taika Waititi’s “Jojo Rabbit” would release this movie, but apparently they thought the rape-centric movie would be perfect for a Christmas release.

As for the big releases, we got four new Marvel films set for 2023, and one new film for 2022, in addition to their already-announced films. There’s also a single new untitled “Star Wars” set for December 2022, but we have no confirmation on whether it’s the Rian Johnson movie or what it will be.

These are the biggest dates announced.
