Kerry Washington, Craig Robinson and David Alan Grier have joined the upcoming comedy “We The Peeples” written by Tina Gordon Chism (“Drumline”) who will also be making her directorial debut with the film.
The wacky sounding film “follows what happens when a child psychologist (Robinson) surprises his girlfriend (Washington) by showing up at her political family’s annual get-together at their Sag Harbor vacation home only to find them desperately in need of therapy.” We love Craig Robinson and think he’s really funny, but don’t buy him for one second as a) a child psychologist and b) someone who has Kerry Washington as a girlfriend. But Kevin James gets away with far greater crimes so we won’t hold it against the film too much.
Filming on the project begins in November in Connecticut. [THR]
