Today brought news of a couple sequels-to-movies-that-don’t-need-them. First, we learned that Frank Grillo will lead "Beyond Skyline," and now a sequel to the barely successful 2011 Jason Statham vehicle "The Mechanic" is on the way.
In the works for a while now, "Mechanic: Resurrection" (LOL) teams Statham with paycheck cashing trio Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, and Michelle Yeoh for a new adventure. Dennis Gansel will direct and we bet you’ll really want to see this when it opens in 2016.
Meanwhile, "Criminal" starring Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Gal Gadot, and Alice Eve has been given an undetermined August 2015 release date, which seems like it’ll be easy to move if they have to. Press releases below.
