Today, a new trailer for the new guardian angel comedy film “Good Fortune” has dropped as it’ll arrive in theaters on October 17, boasting quite an interesting collection of actors on the call sheet.
Keanu Reeves, Aziz Ansari, Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh star, as Ansari is handling multiple duties as star, producer, writer, and director on the upcoming Lionsgate film.
An official synopsis for “Good Fortune” provided by Lionsgate:
A well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).
This will mark Ansari’s first major feature directing debut, after years dabbling with television with things like “Master of None, as the pic is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival in September after recently being added to the lineup (via Variety).
Garam Films, Oh Brudder Productions, Keep Your Head, and Yang Pictures are the production banners on the movie.
While Reeves has made a huge name for himself with a second wind to his career playing the skilled assassin for Lionsgate’s popular “John Wick” franchise, he has also dabbled in the world of comedy with his beloved “Bill & Ted” trilogy.
Ansari pivoted to “Good Fortune” as his first feature effort as a director after his medical comedy-drama “Being Mortal” was scrapped in the wake of the firing of Bill Murray for inappropriate behavior on set. Rogen and Palmer had also been part of the cast and are carrying over with roles in “Good Fortune.
