Got a Tip?

Jason Momoa To Star In New Series From Director Francis Lawrence And ‘Peaky Blinders’ Creator

We haven’t even gotten one episode of a TV series from Apple yet, but already they’re becoming one of the premier destinations for quality streaming content. At least, on paper. And with this new announcement from Deadline, it looks like the tech company can add another anticipated series to their slate.

Deadline is reporting that Jason “My Man!” Momoa has signed on to star in a new series for Apple, called “See.” While your excitement for anything with Jason Momoa in it might be a little tempered, he’s joining some pretty exciting creators on the project. The series is written by Steven Knight, creator of “Peaky Blinders,” and directed by Francis Lawrence, best known for his work on the “Hunger Games” films and most recently on “Red Sparrow.”

“See” has a pretty interesting premise, as well. The ten-episode series is set in a future where humans have lost their sense of sight, relying on new methods to conduct everyday life, such as building, hunting, and surviving. And things get thrown into chaos when a set of twins is born that have their sight. As you might expect, Momoa is set to play a character that is described in the report as a fearless warrior and guardian.

Momoa will next be seen in the upcoming blockbuster “Aquaman,” playing the titular character. However, he’s probably most famous for his role as Khal Drogo on “Game of Thrones.” He is no stranger to streaming TV series, as he starred in the Netflix original “Frontier.”

There’s no word on a release date, but it sounds like this is going to be another big series for Apple, who already has signed on for a massive sci-fi series titled “Foundation” from David S. Goyer, as well as the decidedly non-fantasy series “Little America” from Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon.
