The film arrives from the Academy Award-winning animation studio behind “Wallace & Gromit” and “Chicken Run,” with GKIDS releasing the film in U.S. theaters nationwide beginning September 18. A home entertainment release will follow later this year.

Featuring characters created by Nick Park, “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom” also marks the feature directorial debut of longtime Aardman collaborators Steve Cox and Matthew Walker. Mark Burton, who wrote the Oscar-winning “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” and directed the Oscar-nominated “Shaun the Sheep Movie,” wrote the film alongside Giles Pilbrow. Burton also wrote “A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon,” while Pilbrow previously worked on “Shaun the Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom” and wrote the story for the TV special “Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas,” which Cox directed.

Voice talent includes returning “Shaun the Sheep” regulars Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Kate Harbour.

Aardman’s legacy remains formidable. The studio’s acclaimed body of work includes multiple Academy Award winners, including the animated “Wallace & Gromit” shorts “The Wrong Trousers” and “A Close Shave,” as well as the Best Animated Feature winner “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.” The new “Shaun the Sheep” film also arrives as Aardman celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, with events and celebrations spotlighting the studio’s handmade animation craft and enduring legacy.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom” sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween — until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch. When Shaun turns mad scientist to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control. With the Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.
