Got a Tip?

A Celebrity Psychic Tries To Save His Life And Career In ‘A Crooked Somebody’ Trailer

When it comes to psychics, there is plenty of reasons for skepticism. The vague details of someone’s life just happen to enter a person’s mind and may or may not be accurate to the subject. Honestly, you either have the gift of connecting to spirits or you’re gifted with ill-defined commentary. That’s what makes “A Crooked Somebody” so intriguing.

When his life hinges on the ability to connect to the dead, Michael Vaughn uses his “gift” to give some semblance of closure to a murderer and to bolster his own career. Capitalizing on this newfound case, Michael does what he deems necessary to save his floundering career and his own life. The film stars “GLOW” and “Mad Men” actor Richard Sommer as Michael Vaughn, with Clifton Collins Jr. (“Westworld,” “Knight of Cups“) as the murderer in question. Also in the cast is Ed HarrisGillian Vigman, and “Downton Abbey” alum Joanne Froggatt.

It’s an intense, drama and thriller that will mark the second directorial venture for Trevor White. White previously worked on 2017 features “The Post,” “Wind River,” and “Ingrid Goes West” in producing roles. The film will premiere exclusively on DirecTV in September, with a theatrical rollout following in early October.

“A Crooked Somebody” hits theaters October 5.

Here are the official synopsis and trailer:

Michael Vaughn’s minister father always told him: Better to be an honest nobody than a crooked somebody. But Michael (Richard Sommer) doesn’t see the harm in giving people the closure they need with the dead and travels town-to-town professing his abilities as a spirit medium. One night, Michael is kidnapped. With a knife to his throat, Michael suddenly sees the opportunity of a lifetime in his psychologically unstable captor’s desperation to make contact with the other side. Intent on saving his floundering career, Michael sets out to become a celebrity TV psychic by solving the mystery of a high-profile crime in the national spotlight.
