Yes, “Dallas Buyers Club” is, reductively speaking, an “AIDS drama,” but we’ve come a long way since Bruce Springsteen made us weep with “Streets of Philadelphia.” The soundtrack for the upcoming Matthew McConaughey-starrer is just as energetic and vivacious as his lead character Ron Woodroof, and details of the tunes you’ll be hearing along the way (and some inspired by the movie) have now arrived.
The sixteen-track disc doesn’t waste a moment, bringing along Canadian sisters Tegan and Sara, Jared Leto‘s own band 30 Seconds To Mars, knobtwiddler Awolnation, roots dudes My Morning Jacket and more. If a classic vibe is more your style, Shuggie Otis kicks this off with some soul, while T. Rex brings up the rear with some rock ‘n’ roll.
