Martin Freeman Steps Into Marvel-Verse With Role In 'Captain America: Civil War'

Martin Freeman FargoSuch is the time we live in that "Captain America: Civil War" will not be coming out until next year, and yet people are already talking about the next Marvel movie it will tie into. “It’s to jump off into the next Avengers [film], ‘Infinity War,’ ” Chris Evans told MTV. “So ‘Cap 3’ is going to be the set-up of the real battle, so there are a lot of people.” And indeed, the cast has just grown.

Marvel has announced that Martin Freeman has joined the movie, and as per usual, his role is being kept under lockdown for now. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Iron Man in a story seeing him face off against his Avenger pal, with Chadwick Boseman expected to pop up as Black Panther, as well as a new Spider-Man to be unveiled. And Daniel Bruhl will play the film’s "big bad" Baron Helmut Zemo; the actor recently confirmed the speculation about his part. “I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison,” he told The Independent. “For the first few days I’ll walk around like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It’s such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget.”

Any thoughts on who Freeman might be playing? Let us know. ‘Civil War’ begins on May 6, 2016.
