Obviously: Hans Zimmer To Score Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’

Next week, audiences will at last glimpse the entirety of “Man of Steel,” and with it another musical offering from composer Hans Zimmer. The maestro’s presence on Zack Snyder’s Superman origin story is logical, given the Christopher Nolan producer connection, but if you wanted an early confirmation as to Zimmer’s next collaboration with the “The Dark Knight” director, look no further.

Collider spoke to Zimmer during the Los Angeles junket for “Man of Steel,” and learned that he’ll be scoring Nolan’s upcoming IMAX-heavy sci-fi effort, “Interstellar,” and in addition, that work has already begun. “I wrote something …and I’m writing that.  So, yes, we have started,” Zimmer cagily offered, but with the duo’s track record thus far on “Inception” and the “Dark Knight” trilogy, that morsel is reason enough to celebrate.

Little else is known so far, aside from the film’s beginnings as a story idea by Jonathan Nolan, and turned into a rewrite by Christopher Nolan, following “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.” There’s also the incredible cast of Matthew McConaugheyAnne HathawayJessica Chastain, and naturally Michael Caine – all of which is to say we’re looking forward to November  7th, 2014 very much. The film is expected to shoot later this year.
