Season 4 of “Ted Lasso” looks to be the start of a new three-season arc for the series. The much-loved show was all but wrapped up with the Season 3 finale when Ted parted ways with the AFC Richmond team to return to the U.S. to coach his son’s soccer squad and be closer to his family. This next chapter, however, has Coach Ted returning to the U.K. to coach the AFC Richmond women’s soccer team.

The returning cast includes Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely. Behind the scenes, executive producer Jack Burditt (“Nobody Wants This,” “30 Rock”) joins the production team under a new overall deal with Apple TV.
It’s no surprise that the show is returning, considering it remains one of the most popular series on Apple TV globally. But the fact that three whole new seasons of the feel-good show are on the horizon has fans rejoicing. It wasn’t that long ago that the show’s star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis made it clear that the story of Ted Lasso was over. Thankfully, that is not the case, and audiences will be getting more of Coach Lasso and his positive message when Season 4 rolls out this August.
Goldstein, Sudeikis, Hunt, Joe Kelly, Leanne Bowen, Jane Becker, Bill Wrubel, Sarah Walker, Jack Burditt, and Phoebe Walsh are writers. Bill Lawrence (“Shrinking,” “Scrubs”) executive produces via his Doozer Productions. Additional executive producers are Burditt, Sudeikis, Hunt, Kelly, Becker, Jamie Lee, Wrubel, Goldstein, Bowen, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Walsh, and Walker. Sudeikis, Lawrence, Hunt, and Kelly created the series.
Synopsis:
In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.
