Daisy Ridley To Star In Thriller 'Kolma,' Directed By Marielle Heller, And Produced By J.J. Abrams

Star Wars: The Force AwakensFor a few years now, J.J. Abrams has been trying to get a remake of the 2003 Israeli TV movie, "Kol Ma She’Yesh Li" ("All I’ve Got") off the ground. Back in 2013, he rounded up Ron Howard to direct, but the version didn’t get in front of cameras. But now he’s got some new talent to help bring the story to life.

"The Diary Of A Teenage Girl" helmer Marielle Heller will direct "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" star Daisy Ridley in the fantasy thriller. Megan Holley ("Sunshine Cleaning") has penned the script for "Kolma" that centers on a young, in-love couple who get into a car accident where the man is killed. The woman moves on, marries, has three children, but 50 years later when she faces her own end, she’s given the choice of living again as a 22 year-old, or being reunited with her first love.

The original movie was written and directed by Margalit Keren, who was behind "Be’Tipul," which became the inspiration for HBO’s "In Treatment," which certainly bodes well for the source material being strong. No word yet on when production will begin on "Kolma," but it’ll have to wait for Ridley to wrap up "Star Wars: Episode VIII" regardless. [THR
