Keanu Reeves Says 'Bill & Ted's 3' Script 6 Weeks Away, Reveals Small Plot Details

It seems that people looking for a nostalgia-fueled sequel have found something else to focus their attention on since “Ghostbusters 3” is dead for now until Bill Murray decides to get around to giving the script a read and maybe throwing his old pals a bone by agreeing to show up and do what he’s asked. So instead, we have “Bill & Ted’s 3,” another sequel that everybody wants to talk about but does anybody actually want to see it?

Anyway, chatting with MTV recently while doing the rounds for “Henry’s CrimeKeanu Reeves offered a few more tidbits on the sequel. He says that the franchise’s original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon “are six weeks away from a draft.” So what will it be about? While everyone seems to be losing their shit over these details, it’s pretty minor and hold on to your hats: it involves time travel. “When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened,” he said. “So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”

And while quotes are all well and good, sometimes actually watching and hearing the person say them changes everything. Just look at him below — does it actually seem that he’s that chuffed about another ‘Bill & Ted’? Even Reeves seems to think it’s a bit ridiculous that he’ll be nearing 50 years and still asked to portray one of the members of the Wyld Stallyns. But does anyone really, seriously want a sequel to this? C’mon people, the original movies are fun enough but even they weren’t great. And now a third installment? This along with “Ghostbusters 3” should be left on the shelf to wither and fade away. They’re simply not necessary.
