Got a Tip?

The ‘Cruel Intentions’ Saga Will Continue In A TV Series

nullIf the fate of Sebastian Valmont and Annette Hargrove’s child was still bothering you sixteen years after the release of "Cruel Intentions," good news. There’s going to be new TV show focused on just that very story.

Deadline reports that the film’s original writer Roger Kumble (who directed the straight to video "Cruel Intentions 2," and lots of TV) is teaming up with Lindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross ("The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of Cruel Intentions" stage show) are teaming up to bring a new series to NBC that picks up where the first movie left off.

The drama will center around the teenage Bash Casey, who discovers his Dad’s diary, and endeavors to learn more about the family legacy. And so, prep school beckons, and plays, sex, money, and power follow.

I dunno, sounds like your average soap opera to me, with or without the name "Cruel Intentions." Is there really that much nostalgia for that movie? Guess we’ll find out.
