Got a Tip?

First Look At Keanu Reeves In The Indie Drama ‘Generation Um…’

Keanu Reeves tends to switch it up between blockbuster extravaganzas and lower-key indie fare (with mixed results on both ends). In recent years, he followed “Constantine” with “A Scanner Darkly,” “The Day The Earth Stood Still” with “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee” and before kicking ass in “47 Ronin” he got two smaller flicks under his belt, the comedy “Henry’s Crime” (released earlier this year) and “Generation Um…

Co-starring Bojana Novakovic (Mel Gibson‘s daughter in “The Edge Of Darkness“) and Adelaide Clemens (“Mad Max: Fury Road“) the film follows the life of Reeves’ protagonist and his two accomplices for a day as they, according to the synopsis, “live life on the fringe, immersed in sex, drugs and indecision. As they navigate their daily routine of bars and crowds they embark on a path of self-discovery.” So yeah, it’s one of those movies. Emmy-nominated filmmaker Mark L. Mann (HBO Documentaries’ “Finishing Heaven”) wrote and directed the film, his fictional feature debut. It hasn’t popped up on any fall festival schedules yet so perhaps it’ll make its way to Park City in January for Sundance instead.

So, is this another forgettable attempt by Reeves at non-tentpole material, or something a bit more meaty in a genre that is already stuffed with similar “life in a day” conceits? We’ll soon see. Check out the pics below. [Voltage]
