Got a Tip?

New Images From ‘Mad Max: Fury Road,’ Junkie XL Says Early Cut Of The Second Act Was Three Hours Long

Mad Max: Fury Road (skip crop)So, just how massive is George Miller‘s upcoming "Mad Max: Fury Road"? Well, according to the film’s composer Junkie XL, the first footage he saw, when he first met the director about scoring the movie, was massive.

“At that point, the movie had no beginning, and it had no ending. The first and last acts weren’t there, the second act was there, and that was three hours,” he told Collider. And even all those months ago, he was struck by just how visually impressive the movie was. “The reason why it looks beautiful is that he built very, very massive scenes, so when you see five hundred guys in a shot, there are five hundred guys in a shot. I think they were [shooting in Africa] with nine hundred and fifty people filming. It was unheard of… there’s not a lot of CGI in there.”

Today comes a few new pics of the movie via Total Film. While the picture isn’t due in cinemas until May 15th, rumors are swirling about a possible advance screening at SXSW, where Miller is appearing to show "The Road Warrior," or a bow out of competition at Cannes, given the festival kicks off on May 13th, just a couple days before ‘Fury Road’ opens in theaters. Either way, we can’t wait.
