Got a Tip?

Ezra Miller To Discover ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them,’ Michael Cera And Josh Gad Eyed

nullAfter breakout turns in "Afterschool" and "We Need To Talk About Kevin," Ezra Miller didn’t seem like the most obvious candidate to become a franchise player. Rather, one could be forgiven in thinking he might become a respected and sought after character actor. However, Warner Bros. has faith in Miller’s talents having broad appeal. They already cast him as the lead in "The Flash," and now they’ve got another big property for him.

Variety reports that Miller is the studio’s choice to play Kredan in "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them," with talks underway. He would be joining Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston in the adaptation of J.K. Rowling‘s book set in New York 70 years before Harry comes into the picture, focusing on Newt Scamander, a “magiczoologist” on a quest to document all the magical creatures he can find. And there’s more casting to come.

According to the trade, musician/actress Alison Sudol is director David Yates‘ choice to play Queenie, though the studio may want a bigger name. Meanwhile, Josh Gad and Michael Cera are reportedly meeting with WB next week about taking the role the hero’s nemesis, Jacob (though, Cera is on tour with Alden Penner in Europe until July 6th).

Much more to come as ‘Beasts’ gears up to shoot. The film is slated to hit cinemas on November 18, 2016.
