'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' Final Trailer: New Footage Teases Nostalgia & Asks "Have You Missed Us?"

You know it was bound to happen, right? With all the promotion of “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” hitting, considering the film is arriving in two weeks, Sony was inevitably going to come out and show some of the original cast to drum up interest in the new sequel. And while the studio does show a little reservation, keeping a full reveal out of the trailer, there’s definitely enough that will make original “Ghostbusters” fans giddy.

As seen in the trailer, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” takes place 30 years after the original film series and shows how a young girl, who happens to be the granddaughter of a famous Ghostbuster, pulls together a ragtag group of people to fight ghosts and save the world. Oh yeah, and there are absolutely plenty of teases in the final trailer meant to trigger those dopamine synapses in your nostalgic brain. 

The film stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. And as the last bit of the trailer teases, you can expect appearances from original cast members such as Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver. The film is directed by Jason Reitman, who co-wrote the feature with Gil Kenan

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” arrives in theaters on November 19. You can watch the final trailer below.
