6 New Photos & Poster Of 'The Guilt Trip' Staring Seth Rogen And Barbra Streisand

nullIn a moment of weakness, Andy Brewster (Seth Rogen) asks his widowed mom (Barbra Streisand) to join him on a work-related cross-country road trek in "The Guilt Trip." That's all the premise is and it sounds rather paper-thin, but the first clip of the film released earlier this week was surprisingly charming.

While Rogen is generally known as a quippy stoner who's often obnoxious, he's been taking a lot of atypical and quieter roles of late (see "Take This Waltz" as a recent example) and director Anne Fletcher ("27 Dresses," "The Proposal") says his character in "The Guilt Trip" is another nice guy. "Every son or daughter can relate to him," she told USA Today. "Seth has always been brilliantly comedic. He is the new Albert Brooks, with his timing and ability. I knew he was a great actor but we haven't seen it yet. People will be excited to see him like this." Why this movie? "It's a love letter to my mom," Fletcher said. "With all the things I couldn't say to her face." Ooh, drama? Let's hope so.

Co-starring Adam Scott, Colin Hanks, Yvonne Strahovski and some secret older actor who will play Streisand's former flame who they meet in Vegas on their trip (Fletcher won't say who it is), "The Guilt Trip" is due in theaters Christmas Day.
