Let’s take a break from festivals and comic book news for a (brief) moment and pivot toward some casting that’s going on. Uma Thurman is the latest to join the massive ensemble—Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Emma Thompson, Daniel Brühl, Riccardo Scamarcio, Lily James, Jamie Dornan and Alicia Vikander—in the John Wells directed "Adam Jones." The cooking world movie started production today, and tells the story of the title chef who had it all—and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene.
Former "Downton Abbey" dude Dan Stevens continues to put the period drama behind him, booking a role in "The Ticket." Oren Moverman is producing the Ido Fluk written and directed picture about "a blind man who regains his vision only to be engulfed in selfishness, blinded by his obsession for the superficial." Production begins next month. [Variety]
Tommy Lee Jones has joined Kevin Costner and Gary Oldman in "Criminal." The Ariel Vroman directed movie "centers on a dead CIA operative’s memories, secrets and skills that are implanted into a dangerous prison inmate in hopes that he will stop a diabolical plot." And Jones will play a neuroscientist. So yes, that means we’ll now watch this. [THR]
Her father Judd Apatow produces the show, so we reckon it was only a matter of time until Maude Apatow made an appearance. And yes, she will be playing a character named Cleo in a handful of episodes, but no further details have been released. [TVLine]
Jessica Biel will return to TV for a stint on "New Girl." She’ll play a woman who comes between the on again/off again Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson). [E!]
