'Breaking Bad,' 'House Of Cards' & 'Behind The Candelabra' Among Big Emmy Winners

null

Last night TV’s finest — which these days tends to include some of movie’s finest too — gathered for the Emmy Awards, while the the rest of us stayed glued to “Breaking Bad” and to some extent, the series finale of “Dexter.” Either way, both options were better than that dubstep dance routine to “Breaking Bad” on the awards show. And once the jokes were over, and tributes were finished, some statues were handed out honoring some fine folks.

Vince Gilligan‘s meth cooking drama finally won for Outstanding Drama Series, with Anna Gunn defying the haters and nabbing a Supporting Actress award for her work as Walter White’s troubled wife. Other awards of note include a win for Best Director for David Fincher in his first TV outing, “House Of Cards,” while his pal Steven Soderbergh‘s “Behind The Candelabra” nabbed hardware Best TV Movie, Best Director and Best Actor for Michael Douglas.

Overall, the love seemed a bit more spread out this year with “Modern Family,” “The Newsroom,” “Veep,” “Homeland” and more making showings in the winners circle. Full list below along with highlights from the broadcast.
