How Do You Plead? New 'Dredd' TV Spot Offers Up More Futuristic Action

nullWell, we'll say this about "Dredd" — it's not going to tax your brain with plot. Two judges, one villain, one building, lotsa explosions. At the very least, it's a far cry from the '90s Sylvester Stallone flick, right?

A new minute-long TV spot for the film has dropped, serving a lot of new footage from the upcoming movie. Karl Urban leads the pic as the perma-helmet wearing Dredd, who teams with newbie Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) to take down the drug slinging crime lord, Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), who reigns over the apartment block known as Peach Trees. It all looks like a mindless actioner, complete with self-aware soaked one liners that we would have loved when were fourteen. And that's probably the audience for this thing. When we dared to suggest that the film didn't offer much beneath the surface in our Comic-Con review, some readers claimed that we were missing the point and this was just supposed to be a dumb action movie. So if that's your expectation, you'll probably like this.

"Dredd" plays TIFF Midnight Madness and opens on September 21st. Watch below.
