Got a Tip?

New ‘Man Of Steel’ Logo Looks Like Slightly Edgier Superman Logo

nullHere's a shocker. The new logo for Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman movie, "Man Of Steel" looks…wait for it…just like the iconic Superman "S." You know, the same one that's been on the iconic superhero's chest since his inception in 1932 (albeit, somewhat modified over the years)? Ok, it's slightly different.

Featuring a dark blue, almost-black background, like the color of Superman's costume, this "new" "Man Of Steel" logo is almost like a a royal crest, with red, and minimal yellow, though arguably with colors a little more muted and darker than we've seen before, perhaps suggesting something more ominous in tone from the film. That's all there is to work with so far  —  apart from bad set photos and one very early first look at the new Superman Henry Cavill boasting a Vidal Sassoon-looking hairdo, and sporting a much darker and more modern-looking costume.

Also starring Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fishburne, Ayelet Zurer and Antje Traue among others, "Man Of Steel" was set to land in theaters in December of this year, but got pushed to June 14, 2013, presumably because Warner Bros. already had "The Hobbit" during the 2012 Christmas season and wanted to spread their marketing dollars and efforts around. Produced and conceived by Christopher Nolan with David S. Goyer (who also wrote the screenplay plus worked on "The Dark Knight Rises" story with Nolan), the very latest, unsubstantiated rumor making the rounds on internet boards is that the script borrows heavily from the unproduced J.J. Abrams script from the early aughts, but until some concrete information arrives, we'd take that rumor with a huge grain of salt. [Facebook]
