Sales Poster For ‘Albert Nobbs’; New One Sheets For ‘Green Lantern’
Here’s a bit of poster round-up and we’ll kick it off with what is sure to be one of the most talked about films at the Cannes Film Festival. A lovely one-sheet has landed for “Sleeping Beauty,” Julia Leigh‘s competition contending film. Starring Emily Browning, the film is described as a haunting erotic fairy tale that centers on a student who drifts into prostitution and finds her niche as a woman who is drugged into sleep while men do to her what she can’t remember the next morning. The provocative trailer for the film has already been making waves prior to the fest and it will likely be a very hot ticket on the Croisette.
Next, a nifty sales poster has surfaced for the intriguing drama “Albert Nobbs.” Directed by Rodrigo Garcia (”Mother And Child”) and starring Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Aaron Johnson, Brendan Gleeson, Brenda Fricker and Janet McTeer the film is a “Gosford Park”-style “below stairs” drama about a woman (Close) in 19th Century Ireland who disguises herself as a man in order to survive. The story is based on Irish author George Moore’s short story, “The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs,” which saw an Off-Broadway interpretation by Simone Benmussa that also starred Close in a role that won her an Obie Award. No release date, but we’d guess a fall festival premiere is in the works.
Finally, two more one-sheets for “Green Lantern” which are kind of overly Photoshopped bores. Whatever. That film opens on June 17th. Check ’em all out after the jump. [Recent Movie Posters/Rope Of Silicon/Empire]
