Got a Tip?

Watch: Trailers For ‘Into The Twilight Haze’ About How ‘Twilight’ Is Foreplay For Women Or Something

nullOkay, so the "Twilight" franchise is finished (for now) with Edward and Bella fangbanging into the sunset with 'Breaking Dawn – Part 2.' But are you looking for a cheap, pseudo-scientific and ridiculous documentary about the impact of the movies on women? Well, you've come to the right place.

"Into The Twilight Haze" is a forthcoming documentary it seems (there doesn't seem to be any actual release information) that explores how the movies have affected women's expectations in relationships. Among the folks chronicled is a woman who left her relationship after "Twilight" opened her eyes to the fact that she needed a better connection to her lover. We won't even get into how problematic this entire premise is (it's borderline Women Be Crazy!) but this whole enterprise is the brainchild of legit doctor Dr. Niloo Dardashti, who specializes in couples counseling and therapy according to her website. So this has got credentials.

Anyway, here's a synopsis/description of the project followed by two trailers that are just….well, just watch them…. [PR Newswire via Reddit]

The Twilight Saga is nearly a 6 billion dollar franchise. Sales of the series' books have eclipsed those of Harry Potter , and its newest installment has already grossed nearly $600 million. But why is Twilight so popular? What is the allure that draws so many women to report being "addicted" to the saga and appear to be borderline obsessed with it? What are the underlying aspects that trigger such extreme reactions for so many? And how can we use Twilight as a vehicle to explore male-female dynamics that play such critical roles in our romantic relationships today? What TRULY makes for good sex in long-term relationships, and how does Twilight shed light on this classic question?

Manhattan Psychologist and relationship expert Dr. Niloo Dardashti answers these questions in her documentary Into the Twilight Haze. Through a series of intense interviews and various expert commentary (including herself, a Jungian analyst, and an acclaimed sex therapist), Dr. Dardashti delves into these questions, providing an incredibly insightful, engaging, and concise deconstruction of the many universal themes that Twilight brings up for women across generations and cultures.

A woman who is about to leave her husband describes how Twilight triggered her need for a more intense connection with a lover and how she can no longer go on lying to herself. This is just one story that is shared in this groundbreaking film that everyone can relate to on some level, even if not a Twilight fan. Combining both powerful emotional experiences with humorous accounts of people's reactions to the saga, this film will make viewers laugh and cry, while simultaneously sustaining their attention and stimulating their minds.
