Got a Tip?

Guillermo Del Toro Says He “May Do Another Movie” Before ‘Pacific Rim 2’ Plus New ‘Crimson Peak’ Pics

Crimson PeakIt seems you can’t keep a good kaiju down. It hasn’t taken long for Guillermo del Toro to respond to recent reports that "Pacific Rim 2," which was gearing up to be his next movie, and was slated for a 2017 release, had been "halted indefinitely." The ever optimistic filmmaker says he’s pressing ahead, though by the sounds of it, the monster smash-up sequel has at the very least been delayed.

“We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks. As far as I’m concerned, it’s not gone. We’re still on it,” the filmmaker told EW, adding that something else may come first. “It moved further [down the schedule]. I may do another movie in the middle.”

Certainly, del Toro has no shortage of options when it comes to other projects to choose from, though he doesn’t hint what he might turn too. But there will be plenty of time for that as he’ll soon be making the rounds for this gothic horror "Crimson Peak." The picture opens on October 16th, and a handful of new imagery has arrived for the movie starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, and Charlie Hunnam.
