Got a Tip?

Jaime Lannister From ‘Game Of Thrones’ To Star In Alex Proyas’ ‘Gods Of Egypt’

null

Guys, no spoilers, but fucking serious amount of shit went down last weekend on “Game Of Thrones” and while the world is picking up its collective jaw off the floor, Jaime Lannister (aka Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is making some plans between seasons spent in Westeros.

The actor has boarded “Gods Of Egypt,” the next effort from “Dark City” helmer Alex Proyas. First announced over a year ago, and one of many projects jockeying for attention on Proyas’ slate, this one looks to be taking the pole position. Penned by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (who both wrote Universal‘s upcoming “Dracula” reboot), the movie will be set against the legendary world of great pyramids and sphinxes, with NCW playing “Horus, the god of the sky, who teams up with a human thief and Hathor, the goddess of love, on a magical quest to avenge the death of his father, Osiris.” So, “Immortals” or something?

Anyway, it’s a leading man part of NCW who has been slowly edging his way into the movies with parts in this year’s “Mama” and “Oblivion,” while he will be exercising his comedy chops in the forthcoming “The Other Woman” while showing his dramatic moves in “A Thousand Times Goodnight” with Juliette Binoche. No word yet on when production will begin, but we presume it will be wrapped before Jamie Lannister needs to ride back into action. [The Wrap]
