The most entertaining aspect of “Batman vs. Superman,” thus far, has been the fan reaction. The announcement of the project itself caused quite a stir, but when it was revealed Ben Affleck would play Batman, all hell broke loose… on the internet. Things seemed to have calmed down since, though the announcement that Wonder Woman would also be appearing in the film was also quite a surprise. Regardless, Warner Brothers and DC Comics remain unfettered, as they have just announced that Jason Momoa (“Conan the Barbarian”) is currently in negotiations to join the cast as well.
So, who will Jason Momoa be playing? Well, there have been rumors that he could be playing Doomsday, who was recently mentioned as being a possible villain. There’s also the possibility, according to a source from THR, that he could be playing Martian Manhunter, who’s a member of Justice League. And that too wouldn’t be a total surprise, considering that word around “Batman Vs. Superman” is that there may be a few cameos from people in the superhero supergroup.
Since the “Conan the Barbarian” remake, Jason Momoa is perhaps best known for his role as Khal Drogo in “Game of Thrones” from the first two seasons, and earlier this year he had a supporting role in the Sylvester Stallone actioner “Bullet to the Head.” Obviously, if Momoa actually winds up signing on for “Batman vs. Superman”, it could end up being a huge career booster for him. Hopefully, he can rise to the occasion.
Who do you think Jason Momoa should play in the film? Sound off in the comments below. “Batman Vs. Superman” arrives on July 17, 2015.
