Who would have thought that, in 2025, we’d be in the golden years of the ‘Predator’ franchise? After the success of “Prey” on Hulu a few years ago, we’ve already gotten an animated anthology film, “Predator: Killer of Killers,” and we’re expecting a new franchise sequel, “Predator: Badlands” later this year. Needless to say, ‘Predator’ fans are eating well in 2025. But things keep getting better, as revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con ‘Predator’ panel.
Even though the SDCC panel had all the things you’d expect, including a new look at the forthcoming ‘Badlands,’ filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg was keeping one surprise up his sleeve to wow those in attendance—a new ending for the aforementioned ‘Killer of Killers.’ As revealed in the panel, Trachtenberg, who directed the animated anthology, said he is adding a new ending to his film on Hulu this weekend.
*Slight spoilers ahead*
In the original end credits of the film, we see the camera show Amber Midthunder’s “Prey” character frozen and kept as a trophy by the Predators. However, in the new scene, we see Midthunder’s character and then the camera pans over to show none other than Danny Glover’s Lt. Mike Harrigan from “Predator II” and, most shockingly, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch from the original “Predator.”
While this isn’t some monumental change to ‘Killer of Killers,’ it does add some fan-favorite characters to the film, as well as further flesh out the world a bit more. Does this mean we can expect to see those characters in future animated films? Who knows? As of now, it mainly serves, honestly, as a bit of a fan-service. But, again, ‘Predator’ fans are having a moment. So, let them have their fun.
