What do you do when your little $3 million horror/thriller racks up nearly $90 million, worldwide? You make a sequel. Quickly. And that’s just what Universal has done as one year after we experienced “The Purge,” they’re bringing the mayhem back with “The Purge: Anarchy.”
Ethan Hawke is out, and Frank Grillo is in this time, with a new story set against the same backdrop. Essentially, the premise takes place in a society where for one night per year, people can commit whatever crime they like in exchange for peace among all for the other 364 days. And while Grillo sets out on what looks like a quest for revenge on that fateful night, it looks he winds up playing hero instead of killer, keeping some innocent folks safe from the savages on the street.
