Remember what I was saying about talking animal movies? Well, here’s another, albeit with a bit a twist. "The Angry Birds Movie" finds its roots in a mobile video game sensation, and the fact they managed to turn it into a movie at all is some kind of accomplishment. But it also looks like one that kids will flock to, and a new trailer is here to show you what story the filmmakers have pulled from an app about flinging birds into things.
Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz, Hannibal Buress, Jillian Bell, Danielle Brooks, Romeo Santos, and Smosh bring their pipes to this tale about a battle that erupts when some naughty pigs steal the eggs belonging to some birds who become, you guessed it, angry. Here’s the synopsis:
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis, We’re the Millers, Horrible Bosses), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad in his first animated role since Frozen), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride, This is the End, Eastbound and Down) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.
"The Angry Birds Movie" opens on May 20th.
