Alden Ehrenreich, Taron Egerton And Jack Reynor On Final Shortlist For Young Han Solo

Final Shortlist For Young Han Solo…and then there were three (and maybe a few others). Disney has been holding "secret" auditions and tests for the lead of the "young Han Solo" spinoff movie for its "Star Wars" franchise, and the list of contenders bandied about has featured names like Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, Emory CohenBlake Jenner, Nick Robinson, Colton Haynes, Max Thieriot, Leo HowardTony OllerChandler RiggsHunter Parrish, Rami Malek, Landon LiboironEd Westwick, Tom Felton and Joshua Sasse (phew!) but it appears that the studio has found their final three.

THR reports that Alden Ehrenreich ("Hail, Caesar!"), Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service") and Jack Reynor ("Transformers") are on the final shortlist for the Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed movie. The trade cautions there could be other names on the list, but these are the frontrunners angling to land the gig.

Of the trio, only Ehrenreich has zero franchise experience, but he showed he has charisma to spare, stealing scenes in the Coens‘ otherwise patchy "Hail, Caesar!" Egerton has proven to be a dynamic star already in ‘Kingsman’ (and it’ll be interesting to see if 20th Century Fox hangs onto him, with that franchise continuing to grow), while Reynor is already an accomplished actor, though was largely forgettable in Michael Bay‘s robot smashing pictures.
