Jamie Foxx Up For 'White House Down' With Channing Tatum

nullThere's probably a really clever joke to be made about going from a freed slave in "Django Unchained" to becoming President in "White House Down" but we're tired and we'll let you figure out that one for yourselves. But yes, Jamie Foxx is going to become the leader of the free world, if everything goes according to plan.

While nothing is official yet, and negotiations haven't even started, Variety is reporting that Foxx's reps and Roland Emmerich are looking to lock the actor down for the action pic. Sony are moving fast on the movie after shelling out $3 million on the script by James Vanderbilt ("The Amazing Spider-Man," "Zodiac"). Said to be a cross between "Die Hard" and "Air Force One," the movie will find the already cast Channing Tatum playing a single dad and Secret Service agent who has to strip to make ends meet….sorry wrong movie. He has to save and defend the President (Foxx) when the White House comes under a paramilitary attack. That's right: Channing Tatum is going to save Jamie Foxx. Wrap your head around that one.

This one is moving fast, not only to beat the rival project at Relativity starring Gerard Butler, but also because this fall Tatum heads over to Warner Bros. to make "Jupiter Ascending" with The Wachowskis. We'll see if Foxx signs on the dotted line, but Tatum and Foxx kicking ass? Yeah, we'd watch that.
