While there are some who will naively argue that the kerfuffle around the release of Seth Rogen and James Franco‘s "The Interview" was nothing more than a masterful publicity stunt, it can’t be debated that the attention did turn the movie into something of a cause celebre. Watching the movie allowed you to shake your first at North Korea from the comfort of your own home, and lots of people opened up their wallets to protest. In fact, Sony revealed earlier this week that they pocketed $31 million in digital sales and rentals since the movie officially dropped online on Dec. 24th. But as many folks who have seen the movie by now have realized, the political satire of "The Interview" is mild at best — it’s basically your standard Rogen/Franco joint, just abroad. But this trailer remix is a bit more pointed.
YouTube user MrStratman7 has cut together "The Interview: Act Of War," reimagining the comedy as a cinematic offering from Kim Jong-Un. And it’s a clever reuse of the footage (along with clips of Barack Obama‘s comments on the Sony hack), which essentially shows how the innocent North Koreans are provoked by intrusive Americans.
