Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs Biopic Boots Up With Christian Bale In The Lead Role

Christian Bale, Danny BoyleDavid Fincher wanted him back when the "Gone Girl" director was circling the film, and Christian Bale‘s name turned up again recently in reports that he was being eyed along with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Bradley Cooper for the lead in Danny Boyle‘s upcoming Steve Jobs biopic. And now it looks like the gig is his.

Variety reports the Bale is in talks for "Jobs," which isn’t to be confused with the Ashton Kutcher movie everyone would rather forget. As you’ll recall, the film has a script by Aaron Sorkin, based on the acclaimed biography by Walter Isaacson, but it won’t be your usual birth-to-death approach. Instead, Sorkin revealed in 2012 that his script utilizes three "real time" 30-minute scenes to capture the Mac, NeXT, and iPod product launches, in 1984, 1997, and 2001 respectively. So no, this won’t be the saga of the bending iPhone 6.

No word yet on when this will begin production, but we’re bummed we’re not going to get cinematic story of the Newton we’ve been dying for.
