Over the past little while, we've seen a couple of documentaries come along that shed light onto some intriguing avenues of the entertainment world, such as "Paul Williams: Still Alive," about the '70s personality/songwriter/multitasker, and "Being Elmo," which focused on the man behind one of the most lovable creations on "Sesame Street." And now, another look at unique performer will be making its way to viewers later this year.
Independent distributor Virgil Films & Entertainment has acquired North American distribution rights to the 2012 SXSW Film Festival SXGlobal Audience Award winner, "Her Master’s Voice." The unique film follows the British comedian/ventriloquist Nina Conti, who takes the bereaved puppets of her mentor and love Ken Campbell to the annual Vent Haven Convention in Kentucky. She gets to know her traveling partners along the way, and through them deconstructs both herself and her lost love in this ventriloquial docu-mocumentary requiem.
Virgil Films will distribute the picture nationwide, with its DVD debut this fall following a limited theatrical run. Check out a trailer for "Her Master's Voice" below.
