It might feel like this year’s World Series is a distant memory, but in just a few months players will be back on the field for spring training. And for those of you eager for the small of grass, hot dogs, beer and spending four hours watching a game involving bats and balls, Disney has a treat.
The first trailer for “Million Dollar Arm” is here and it finds Jon Hamm not pitching ads, but the idea of using cricket players as pro pitchers. Based on a true story, the movie follows agent JB Bernstein who hits a career skid, but heads to India to see if his harebrained scheme has anything to it. And soon, a big reality TV competition brings forth two young cricket players who travel back to America and try for the majors, where feelings and sports come together in the way a Disney movie usually does.
