Got a Tip?

Christina Hendricks To Star In Adaptation Of Joan Didion’s ‘A Book Of Common Prayer’

nullWhile many know her primarily as Joan Harris in AMC’s award-winning series “Mad Men,” Christina Hendricks has appeared in her fair share of movies these past few years, namely “Drive” and “Life as We Know It.” Now, she’s gearing up another big screen appearance, as she’ll be toplining Campbell Scott’s upcoming adaptation of Joan Didion’s “A Book of Common Prayer,” which will surely be her biggest film role yet.

She will be starring alongside Campbell Scott, who signed on to direct the project earlier this year. Hendricks plays Charlotte Douglas, “an American woman who arrives in a fictional Central American country that is on the verge of revolution and inexplicably imagines it is the place where she will be reunited with her fugitive daughter.” It’s definitely an interesting pairing, we’ll see just how well Hendricks can hold her own in a leading role. She’s certainly turned in some memorable performances on “Mad Men,” and it’ll be interesting to see how strike out her own here.

No word on when “A Book of Common Prayer” will start filming yet, hopefully we’ll get more details soon. [Variety]
