Listen: M83’s Title Track From The ‘Oblivion’ Soundtrack

nullWhile we still have to wait to see if Tom Cruise‘s “Oblivion” will give an early start to the spring/summer blockbuster season, we do know one thing: the movie will definitely at least sound epic. M83‘s Anthony Gonzalez has provided the sonic backdrop for Joseph Konsinski‘s latest sci-fi adventurse, and yes, it sounds pretty much like you thought it would.

Riding on a wave of synths, the title track has dropped online and its most prominent feature is the vocals of Susanne Sundfør. She’s a hugely popular singer in her native Norway, winning a handful of awards and selling piles of records, and this will certainly help her get some more exposure. Röyksopp fans may recognize her voice from the band’s single last year, “Running to the Sea.” And while we may not hear “Oblivion” until the closing credits (our guess), it’s probably gonna be worth sticking in your seat for, if only to hear it pumped through theater sized speakers.

The soundtrack will be available on April 9th with the movie following on April 19th. Listen below and if you missed, you can also hear “StarWaves” from the flick right here. [AV Club]
