Listen: Michael Giacchino's Full Score For 'Jurassic World'

Jurassic WorldAs the tagline says, "The park is open." This weekend, "Jurassic World" brings the noise to cinemas around the world, and it has more than a few big shoes to fill. Of course, it has to follow Steven Spielberg‘s still terrific "Jurassic Park," and then there’s the original score by John Williams, which has become as much a part of the franchise as the dinosaurs. However, director Colin Trevorrow has an ace up his sleeve.

The filmmaker has tapped Michael Giacchino to score the blockbuster movie, and today you hear his complete 77-minute soundtrack. And the Oscar winning composer has previously shown a strong hand in stepping into established franchises and making a mark ("Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol," two "Star Trek" films) or in capturing the mood of a certain era (his Amblin Entertainment-esque work on J.J. Abrams‘ "Super 8"). And you can judge for yourself whether he’s done it again for this latest effort.

The "Jurassic World" soundtrack is available in stores today and the film opens on Friday. Listen below.
