Jason Statham is practically a genre unto himself. So when it comes to marketing a movie with him in it, we understand that you don't need complicate things. But there is such a thing as taking things a bit too easy.
Boasting a bold but plain red background, Generic Statham Pose #P-9156894-J and, for some reason, Jennifer Lopez's face haunting his torso, this is pretty damn forgettable. But it also tells you everything you need to know about this movie: namely, that it stars Jason Statham, and once again he'll be well dressed and taking care of business– boom. Oh, it's directed by Oscar winner Taylor Hackford? Doesn't matter because the Statham Nation doesn't need to know that. Co-stars Nick Nolte? Again, useless info to the Statham faithful.
Anyway, in case you care, it's an adaptation of Donald E. Westlake's novel and Parker is actually one of his most famous character creations. But given Statham's range tends to go from constipated to pissed off to really pissed off we're sure it'll be not unlike his usual, once-every-six-months creations. But hey, we're willing to be surprised.

Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez team up to get their cut in the crime thriller, PARKER, based on the series of bestselling novels by Donald E. Westlake.
Parker (Jason Statham) is a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead.
Determined to make sure they regret it, Parker tracks them to PalmBeach, playground of the rich and famous, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), a savvy insider, who’s short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean.
PARKER is directed by Academy Award nominee Taylor Hackford (“Ray”) and also stars Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce (HBO’s “The Wire”) and Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte.
