Got a Tip?

‘The Hobbit’ Reveals Epic Banner Poster On The Eve Of Comic-Con

nullComic-Con 2012 is right around the corner, kicking off Thursday, July 12th (though there's a screening of "Dredd" and some TV pilots on Wednesday night), and Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a long-ass banner/poster from Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." "The Scroll," as it's called, evidently stitches together ten scenes from the film under one big image and since it's massive, we've broken the images up. EW's site is a bit more interactive and has a zoom tool if you want to take a super close look at Gollum, Bilbo, the numerous dwarves, Gandalf, Mirkwood forest and more.

Having created quite the mixed-results stir at CinemaCon earlier this year, it'll be curious to see if the footage from "The Hobbit" at Comic-Con will be presented in its controversial 48-frames-per-second format. There's been talk that the film will be available in both 48fps — which many audience members felt looked like bad hi-def TV and jarring — and 24fps when it hits theaters. Our guess is they'll present the footage in regular 24fps to avoid any more negative press, but who knows — Peter Jackson has sounded confident that audiences will eventually embrace it within the context of the entire film.

'An Unexpected Journey' hits theaters on December 14th. More details from Comic-Con will roll in this week.
