Even with Steve McQueen busy for the next little while thanks to HBO ordering six-episodes of the "Codes Of Conduct" limited series — which he’ll direct every installment of — he’s not letting some of his brewing projects just sit around and collect dust. In fact, one of them just landed a high profile screenwriter.
"Gone Girl" scribe, and new David Fincher fave (she’s also penning his upcoming TV series "Utopia"), Gillian Flynn, has been tapped to write McQueen’s "Widows." The film is an adaptation of the 1980s Brit TV series that centers on the widows of three armed robbers, killed during a heist, who use their late husbands’ plans for the failed robbery to pull it off themselves, rounding up a fourth woman to assist. Flynn will co-write the movie with McQueen, who will also produce. While this one probably is a bit of a way off, we’re just glad it’s not being forgotten on McQueen’s slate.
