New Poster For Doc ‘Room 237’ Pays Homage To The Original ‘The Shining’ One Sheet

nullWhile Rodney Ascher‘s documentary “Room 237” quite vocally does not have the endorsement of the Stanley Kubrick estate, that hasn’t stopped the marketing from paying homage to “The Shining.” It was just about a month ago, the a clever trailed riffed on the original teaser and now that playfulness has extended to a new poster.

EW has debuted the latest one sheet, a minimal yellow poster presenting a keyhole and maze that is designed in the same fashion as the original design for Kubrick’s movie, which presented a ghostly face in the title. It’s another pretty fun little piece of advertising from what is definitely one of the year’s first must-see documentaries. Exploring theories both outlandish and plausible behind real meaning of “The Shining” (is it a Holocaust movie? a statement on the treatment of Native Americans? both?) it’s hugely entertaining, and a testament to the enduring power of the movie.

“Room 237” opens on March 29th. Read our review here and check out the poster below.nullnull
