It feels like we've been tracking Walter Salles' adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal Beat Generation work, "On The Road," for years now, but come this Wednesday we'll finally have word on how the Brazilian director has fared with the cult favorite. Everything we've seen so far has been highly promising, a notion personified by the young but talented cast led by the duo of Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund.
We now have a boatload of new, vibrant, sun-kissed images from the film, some of which highlight characters who have not been featured as prominently in the promotion so far, including Kirsten Dunst, Terrence Howard and Amy Adams, along with the usual suspects and Kristen Stewart. Let's not forget that Viggo Mortensen, Alice Braga, Elizabeth Moss, Tom Sturridge, Danny Morgan and Steve Buscemi are also a part of this thing, and that Salles is again collaborating with his 'Motorcycle Diaries' team of scribe Jose Rivera, composer Gustavo Santaolalla and DoP Eric Gautier.
After Cannes, the film is likely to go on a festival run (it's already been scheduled to screen at the Sydney Film Festival next month) before a theatrical release this fall through IFC Films & Sundance Selects, who picked it up earlier this month.
